A CloudFlare security vulnerability has been found recently. This is a memory bug which could allow sensitive information to get leaked. CloudFlare has since patched this security risk.
However, while this bug was in the wild, valuable data may have been compromised. Tavis Ormandy part of Google’s Project Zero first noticed this security problem. He noticed corrupt data from some CloudFlare hyper text transfer protocol servers.
CloudFlare’s edge servers were returning back private and sensitive data. Also, this data was being cached by some search engines. This data was only exclusive to non security HTTP requests.
In other words data protected with secure sockets layer was not vulnerable. CloudFlare claims they were able to patch this bug in less than seven hours. Initially, they shutdown email obfuscation, server side excludes and automatic secure hyper text transfer protocol rewrites. CloudFlare worked with Google and other search engines to help removal of possible cached sensitive information.
Unfortunately, sensitive data such as passwords may have been leaked while this exploit was live. CloudFlare is a content delivery network.
Security researcher ESET has found a new mac operating system ransomware. This ransomware is downloadable via bit torrent websites. This software is called “Patcher” and is used to pirate popular software.
These torrents found in wild included a zip file. However, this zip file is not really pirated software. This software is actually ransomware.
Once a “Start” button is clicked your files are then encrypted. A random twenty five character encryption key is generated. Your original files are deleted and replaced with these encrypted ones.
All files under a “Users” and “Volumes” directory are encrypted. A email address and bitcoin address are included in a README file. This file warns a user that all data is encrypted and can be unlocked with a payment.
However, ESET points out that there is no way for these files to get their encryption reversed. ESET recommends that you not pay a ransom fee, if you are a victim of this ransomware.

OBS Studio is currently my live streaming software of choice. I use this free software on my Reality PC weekly video podcast. I recently stumbled upon another free service to incorporate into my live video podcast.
StreamLabs has a set of free tools to incorporate into your YouTube and or Twitch live streams. Information such as subscribers, donations, sponsors, etc. can be incorporated into your live stream. This service is entirely free.
You do not need to create a separate account with StreamLabs. You will need to login with your Google/YouTube account or Twitch account. Then you click on a “LAUNCH STREAMLABS” button at top of their homepage.

Once logged into your dashboard you can quickly setup an alert widget to use within your live streams. Start a real live stream with either Twitch or YouTube.
Under “Stream Widgets” on left hand side, click on “Alert Box”. You can show live real time donations, subscribers, and sponsors information from your YouTube channel to your viewers. Click on “Click to show widget URL”.
You want to copy and paste this URL into your OBS Studio Scene Source. Create a new source for a scene that you want this information to overlay. You want to create a new “Browser Source” source.
