HP Notebook – Battery Safety Recall Replacement Instructions

Hewlett Packard Development Company Limited has expanded their HP Notebook battery recall program. Even if you previously checked to see if your battery was affected, Hewlett Packard recommends you check your battery again. They have added some batteries to this recall program, not previously announced.

These batteries are capable of overheating and causing burn and fire hazard to customers. Hewlett Packard has stipulated that these batteries were sold between March two thousand thirteen and October two thousand sixteen. Specific systems were attributed to Hewlett Packard, Compaq, Hewlett Packard ProBook, Hewlett Packard Envy, Compaq Presario, and Hewlett Packard Pavilion notebook computers.

Hewlett Packard will supply a free replacement. You can continue to use a computer with a recall battery, by taking out your battery and using your HP supplied AC Adapter. You can download a utility that will validate whether or not you have in possession one of these recalled batteries.

Another way to validate is manually. You will need to enter in your HP Notebook Serial number and battery bar code number. Also, you will need to select what country your battery should be mailed to.
