I received another question on a third party website where by I earn supplemental income answering computer and technology related questions. This time an individual was not able to get their printer working on their tablet computer. Here is the initial request quoted verbatim.
I’m trying to connect to my wireless printer, an HP OfficeJet 4630, with an Ematic EWT832NS 2 in 1 Windows tablet. I get a message to insert the CD that came with the printer into the computer (tablet) which doesn’t have a CD drive. The tablet appears to see the printer, but I can’t get the printer to print.
Whenever you are not able to install a printer with a compact disc read only memory or digital video disc you most likely will be able to download the driver and or software for your printer. This individual owned a Hewlett Packard OfficeJet 4630 printer. Also, they were using an Ematic tablet computer with Microsoft Windows ten operating system installed.
You can download and install the Hewlett Packard OfficeJet 4630 printer software from the previous uniform resource locater web page link. You will not want to connect the printer to your computer until instructed to do so by the software installation. Once you download that software to your computer you just double click it to begin the printer installation.
My experiences with Hewlett Packard printer installs, is to not connect your printer to your computer first. In this instance a tablet computer without a compact disc read only memory optical drive. You want to wait until the installation prompts you to connect your printer to your computer.
If you connect your printer to your computer first, Microsoft Windows operating system will attempt to load a default printer driver that may or may not work. Also, when you try to install the Hewlett Packard printer driver, the installation gets confused as it detects a driver already installed. The printer installation program may or may not install the correct original equipment manufacture printer driver.
This may cause you to not be able to print, even after installing the correct driver. You will be prompted to select how you want to connect your printer to your computer. You will have two or three choices, universal serial bus cable, Ethernet cable, or Wireless.
This individual had a Hewlett Packard wireless printer. You will want to make certain that you have connected your wireless printer to your wireless network router. You will need to know your service set identifier and password. Once you have successfully connected your Hewlett Packard OfficeJet 4630 printer to your wireless network router, you will be able to print to it.
Hewlett Packard printer installs are notoriously slow according to my own experiences as a real world computer technician. I would allow at least thirty minutes to an hour for the installation of the software to complete. Once the Hewlett Packard printer installation detects your printer successfully it will begin installing the software.
Most if not all printers I have supported in the last ten years or so, almost always have a download available on their original equipment manufacture brand websites. Microsoft and Apple operating systems are almost always supported. You should be able to find a printer driver at the very least for most newer printers.
I always install the full suite of software including the driver. This can take quite a bit of time. However, you will be able to possibly copy, fax, print, and scan from your printer, depending on how many features it includes. The all in one Hewlett Packard printers usually include copy, fax, printing, and scanning capability.
You may be asked to register your printer. Also, you may be asked to enter in your fax information. You may or may not be able to skip these information requests.
Your printer software will finally complete the installation process. You may be asked to sign up to the Hewlett Packard instant ink program. This is voluntary and you do not need to sign up in order to print.
You will still be able to purchase printer cartridges yourself in order to print. These instructions were written for an Ematic two in one tablet computer with Microsoft Windows ten operating system to print on a Hewlett Packard OfficeJet 4630 printer.
