Last Known Good Configuration – Get Windows to Boot Normally

Microsoft Windows Seven

You will want to power off your computer. Then you can power it back on and immediately start tapping your F8 key until an advanced boot options menu opens. You will want to make certain to start pressing your F8 key before Microsoft Windows operating system tries to boot.

You want to choose "Last known good configuration". If that option does not work then you can try "Safe mode", "Safe mode with networking" or "Safe mode with command prompt" from that same advanced boot options menu. Hopefully, now Microsoft Windows seven operating system boots successfully and functions normally.

Microsoft Windows Vista

If you keep tapping the F8 key after you see your computer basic input output screen display and right before Microsoft Windows operating system tries to boot you will see the advanced boot options menu. You will want to select “Last Known Good Configuration” from that menu. Hopefully, your Microsoft Windows Vista operating system based computer will boot and function normally now.
