Open Source Recording Software – Audacity 2.2.1 Released

Open source recording software developer Audacity has released version 2.2.1. This Audacity 2.2.1 version includes some bug fixes, one new feature, and one change.

Waveform colorways is a new feature that allows you to configure how colorways are displayed. You have four different colorways to choose from. You browse to that tracks control panel and then select colorways from a drop down menu.

In version 2.2 of Audacity they added a menu under “File” called “Save Other”. This has now been changed to an “Export” menu under “File”. The following bugs have been resolved:

* mac finder second project opens second not accessible instance of audacity
* applying chain files crash
* selection before zero preview failure
* importing audio via “File” then “Open” causes incorrect zoom level without scroll bar

You can upgrade Audacity open source recording software by either downloading the most current version from a static link or by checking for updates. To check for updates in Audacity, click on “Help” in top menu and choose “Check for Updates”. You will be taken to a web page that will notify you if your Audacity software is outdated and that a new version is available.

You will be able to download the newest version of Audacity for Microsoft Windows, Apple Macintosh, and Linux operating systems. Currently, Audacity supports Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10, macOS 10.6 or later, and a source code version for Linux.
