Android Nougat – Released For T-Mobile HTC 10 Smart Device

While not publicly disclosed yet by T-Mobile USA Incorporated. Android Nougat is now being rolled out to some users of T-Mobile’s HTC 10 device. On a T-Mobile HTC 10 page, Android Marshmallow is still listed as latest operating system.

Software build 2.37.531.5 is being released that includes Android Nougat 7.0, which is first version of Nougat. According to a HTC 10 T-Mobile page, they have released software version 1.81.531.30. However, software version 2.37.531.5 is one that includes Android Nougat 7.0.

Here are instructions on how to download and install Android Nougat 7.0 for your T-Mobile HTC 10 smart device, if it is available for you:

From a Home screen tap “All Apps”, then tap “Settings”. Click “About” and then tap “Software Updates”. Your HTC 10 will automatically check for updates.

Click “Download” to download this Android 7 Nougat update. If your using your mobile network connection you may be prompted with with a fee warning. You won’t receive this warning if your connected via WiFi.

Once this download completes, you will be requested to begin installation via a notifications pull down menu. Tap “System Update” to begin installing Android Nougat 7.0. You want to make sure your T-Mobile HTC 10 power charger is plugged in.

Also, your device will reboot multiple times during this upgrade. You will not be able to use your device. Once this upgrade is completed, you can go back into Settings then About and make sure that software version 2.37.531.5 is listed. You might want to go to Google Play store on your T-Mobile HTC 10 and make sure that all your apps are updated before you begin this operating system upgrade.

If you have problems upgrading to Android Nougat 7.0 on your device, you can download and install HTC sync manager software on your computer. You will need to hook up your device via USB to a computer running Microsoft windows. One warning is if you perform this upgrade manually, your device will be wiped.

Make sure to back up your contacts, calendar events, bookmarks, and documents before hand. HTC sync manager is free software.
