Online Payment Processing – PayPal Accepts Payments on Facebook

Popular social programming I mean social networking website FaceBook has partnered with online payment processing provider PayPal. Actually, these two corporations partnered last year, but I digress back to this blog post. Since last year Facebook users could make payments to merchants via PayPal.

Now, Facebook users will be able to send each other money via PayPal messenger. For whatever reason this feature is only available on Apple’s iOS operating system. You will be able to send money with PayPal or request money.

All of this can occur within Facebook messenger. This feature is coming soon to the Android operating system. No word when this feature will become available to desktop and laptop Facebook users.

“We’re excited today to announce an expansion of our relationship with Facebook with the addition of PayPal as a funding source for peer-to-peer (P2P) payments, right in Messenger. People will have the option to send and request money using their PayPal account, and this integration in Messenger is starting to roll out to U.S. consumers today.”

A support robot will also be a feature of this unique perhaps online payment processing system. However, Apple will have a similar payment feature via messages, called Apple pay cash in messages. Perhaps Facebook and PayPal are just trying to upstage.

I do not know, but I do not believe in coincidences. Facebook and PayPal made this announcement right before Apple was to launch a similar feature. Facebook has supported in application payments for awhile using PayPal.

However, this is the first time that Facebook users will be able to send each other money. Facebook claims that 2.5 million users have already connected their Facebook accounts with their PayPal accounts. You must have Facebook messenger enabled.

Click on a Facebook friend that you want to send or receive money from. Click on the dollar sign within circle icon. A “send money to anyone” window will pop up.

Click on “Next”. You will see two tabs in the next screen. Choose “Pay” to pay someone using PayPal or click on “Request” tab to request money via PayPal.

Enter in the amount you wish to send or receive. You can add a note stipulating what this transaction is for. These payment transactions are allegedly secure and encrypted.
