Ads on Periscope might offend users of this free service. Creators and publishers of video content on Periscope are now able to monetize their videos. Companies will be able to advertise on Twitter via Periscope.
These companies will be able to advertise on specific broadcasts. Periscope live and replays videos can start with a short ad. These ads will roll out increasingly in next few months.
No word on length of ad and whether or not you can skip these ads after a certain time frame. Mobile live streamers can also monetize their content. Twitter is allegedly going to pay seventy percent of ad revenue to content creators and keep remaining thirty percent for themselves.
Any person can sign to monetize their videos. However, this is only open to United States residents at this time. Only videos created on Twitter via Periscope will stream pre-roll ads.
