ONN Wireless Mouse

I recently purchased an ONN wireless mouse from Walmart. I think paid $8.84 not including tax. ONN is a Chinese brand that I think is exclusive from Walmart. This ONN wireless mouse comes with a radio receiver and two triple AAA batteries.

There is a small back cover, where the batteries are installed. Also, there is small compartment to store the nano receiver, which is just basically an antenna. This ONN wireless mouse includes:

  • 2.4 GHz Wireless Band
  • 1600 DPI Optical Sensor
  • Nano Receiver
  • On and Off Switch
  • Left or Right Hand Usage
  • PC and Macintosh Compatible
  • Forward and Reverse Buttons
  • Left and Right Mouse Buttons
  • Scroll Wheel

This mouse requires two triple AAA batteries that were actually included. A nice touch indeed. Also, the packaging claims that you need a USB adapter for use on a Macintosh computer.

I connected the USB nano receiver antenna to a computer with MX Linux 19.1. I turned the mouse on via the on and off switch. The mouse immediately worked.

I did NOT have to use the connect button. So far after a few months of use, I have not had one problem with this mouse. The mouse has two other buttons on the left hand side.

Forward and reverse scroll buttons. I have never ever used forward and reverse scroll buttons on any mouse I have ever obtained. The mouse comes with the standard left and right buttons and a middle scroll wheel.

I like the feel of the middle scroll wheel. Overall, I actually like the feel and weight of this mouse. It feels more solid then the more expensive black web mouse that Walmart also sells.

The packaging included a small FCC insert but no instructions. I like the size of this mouse. Whenever I shop for mice, I can’t help but notice most of them are travel size mice.

I know you can purchase larger wireless mice. However, why don’t manufacturers create wireless size mice the size of standard desktop wired mice. Oh well, beggars cannot be choosy.

This mice feels a little bit larger then some other travel sized mice. It works well on my HP Spectre X360 with MX Linux 19.1 and that is all that matters.

ONN Wireless Mouse – Video Transcript

00:00
that’s what YouTube says alright I want
00:03
to make this quick video pertaining to
00:05
this mouse that I purchased if what I
00:08
don’t know it’s been a few months now
00:13
it’s a wireless it comes from Walmart
00:16
it’s much better than that last video I
00:18
made about the fucking black web
00:20
disaster I’m not using that racially
00:23
that’s the brand of the mouse at Walmart
00:26
this one which I have right here it’s a
00:28
known and brand going in as a Chinese I
00:30
think it’s exclusive to Walmart but it
00:33
is Chinese so if you’re a typical
00:35
American xenophobe you might want to get
00:38
the fuck off my youtube channel because
00:40
I don’t have anything against Chinese or
00:43
Japanese or any actually any other
00:45
nation state it’s in my hand
00:49
it’s an OEM wireless mouse and the
00:54
lighting in here isn’t very good for
00:55
like demonstration so I’d have to put
00:58
lights back there there’s a small lamp
01:01
back there I don’t even know if that’ll
01:03
do any good that’s gonna do any good but
01:09
all I will still show this to you up
01:11
close I’ve had it a few months it might
01:14
have a little a few I don’t know if
01:16
those are permanent scratches or just
01:20
smudges anyways
01:49
okay so it came with two batteries to
01:52
triple A’s that came with the packaging
01:54
which is great
01:55
I hate those fucking commercials
01:57
batteries not included well what the
02:01
fuck you’re that cheap so it has a small
02:06
little cover and then it’s got a little
02:09
piece of plastic that holds down the
02:12
battery so it just requires two triple-a
02:15
and then you just place them inside and
02:17
then snap them down and then the little
02:20
plastic is so that you can pull them
02:22
back out and then the cover goes back on
02:26
and come on
02:32
and let’s see so it has a off-and-on
02:36
switch it has a connect button which
02:39
I’ve never had use it has two buttons on
02:43
the side on the left side I I almost
02:46
never use those kind of buttons I don’t
02:48
know I think those are forward and
02:50
reverse buttons in a web browser that I
02:52
have never fucking learn how to use and
02:54
I don’t know whatever but it does have
02:57
those buttons it has a typical scroll
02:59
Mouse which I like the feeling of much
03:03
better to me overall just the when you
03:06
hold it in your hand you can tell it’s
03:09
better made and this was cheaper than
03:11
that other one this was only I think
03:13
eight dollars and 84 cents at Walmart
03:15
and I can show you the buttons again
03:17
where I don’t think I show them to you
03:19
there on the left hand side
03:36
all right well I’d have to get better
03:38
lighting and I don’t fucking feel like
03:40
you know spending money on dumb shit
03:43
lighting there is like literally in this
03:45
hotel room there is there’s one big it’s
03:49
a pretty big light right there but it’s
03:52
I don’t know the bulb is really like low
03:56
and it’s got a it’s different type of
03:58
bulb it’s not one of these LEDs and then
04:01
there’s a light way in the back there
04:02
but that’s not gonna fucking do shit
04:04
anyways most of my videos are not
04:08
demonstrations anyways but I like this
04:12
mouse if SCIM is kind of it’s not as
04:15
heavy as the Logitech’s it’s a little
04:18
bit bigger than the Logitech’s you know
04:19
the logitech wireless mice I don’t like
04:22
those because they’re almost too small
04:24
and I don’t know they’re they’re okay
04:27
they’re well made they’re a lot more
04:29
expensive but yeah they’re they’re
04:32
pretty they’re pretty good it’s just I
04:34
think they’re too small
04:35
whereas now you have this wired mouse
04:37
it’s also an Onan from Walmart this was
04:41
all I think the same price 884 this
04:44
one’s quite a bit bigger but a lot of
04:48
times what you’ll find is that I don’t
04:50
know why this is when it comes to
04:52
wireless mice they almost always make
04:54
them smaller and it’s like well why the
04:58
fuck don’t you bill make a mouse you
05:01
just take a look a wired mouse and just
05:06
cut the cable and then I don’t get why
05:10
even here you can tell you can tell that
05:14
the the wired mouse is bigger and if I
05:17
would loved to just have I don’t know
05:20
why that is I don’t know
05:21
now this one is made well made it’s it
05:25
feels almost as heavy as the Logitech
05:27
ones I have not dropped this one I’m not
05:30
going to do a drop test that other black
05:33
web met its demise because it dropped
05:35
once about maybe this high or the table
05:38
and it just completely shattered now the
05:43
little time I already made a video
05:45
I like this mouse and so let’s go over
05:48
let me show you the packaging
05:50
was the original packaging so let me
05:53
show you that this comes from Walmart
05:58
and it even has a user guide and then I
06:03
get to throw this away after this video
06:05
probably almost there’s some tape I
06:08
never took it out anyways
06:32
okay so that was the original packaging
06:35
and let’s see six minutes wireless mouse
06:40
powerful 2.4 gigahertz wireless
06:42
connectivity it comes with a receiver
06:45
and two triple A batteries wireless
06:49
mouse I went in which is a Chinese eye I
06:52
looked into it and it’s a I think it’s
06:53
an exclusive brand to Walmart that is
06:57
Chinese and anyways I think you’ll only
07:00
find it at Walmart but I could be wrong
07:02
about that I could I couldn’t find it
07:04
anywhere else so wireless mouse advanced
07:06
2.4 gigahertz wireless for the
07:08
reliability of a corded connection enjoy
07:11
smooth trouble-free operation it has
07:13
advanced 1600 dpi optical sensor
07:16
technology low profile nanos here that’s
07:19
just the wireless receiver show the
07:22
stove’s inside the mouse yep it does
07:24
have most mice that I have purchased or
07:27
got my hands on pun intended
07:29
always had a store away and it’s usually
07:32
underneath where the batteries go almost
07:35
always or well the logitech’s
07:38
the logic tips I think it’s actually
07:40
yeah that yeah that is one thing with
07:42
the Logitech’s they have a bigger cover
07:44
on the back of the underneath and then
07:47
the batteries are under the knee there
07:51
and also a little place for the receiver
07:55
which is basically an antenna now this
07:58
one
08:02
yeah it I don’t know if you can see it
08:04
it’s gonna be right there
08:06
so you and that’s very important here’s
08:11
a tip when it comes to wireless – I you
08:14
cannot you they I think have separate
08:17
MAC addresses the wireless they call
08:20
them receivers is really an antenna
08:23
it talks via USB with the old-school in
08:31
infrared it’s really like an in it’s an
08:34
antenna well it’s those receivers are
08:39
technically a network connection and in
08:44
computing every network connection every
08:47
Ethernet every Wi-Fi has a has a static
08:53
MAC address that is literally physically
08:57
and embedded into the network device so
09:02
you cannot take a receiver from this
09:06
Mouse and then swap it and it will not
09:09
work because the MAC address is static I
09:13
don’t know if there is a way to program
09:14
it but I don’t know
09:23
so my tip is that don’t expect that if
09:27
you lose the receiver that came with the
09:31
mouse and then grab another one even if
09:35
it’s a known end brand and it ain’t
09:38
gonna fucking work same thing with
09:39
Logitech you can’t you can’t do it I’m
09:42
not aware I’d have to like really
09:44
research and see if there’s a way that
09:45
you can program the mice with the new
09:48
MAC address I don’t know if that’s
09:50
possible
09:51
it has a connect button on the bottom
09:54
right where my finger is that I never
09:56
had to use it this was easy that this I
09:59
don’t know if you can see it yeah you
10:01
can barely see it this is a quad-core
10:04
laptop running off the flash drive and
10:07
guess what this computer that I’m
10:08
recording this video is running off of
10:11
oh oh that’s right you got the YouTube
10:14
Technology shills
10:15
there are a bunch of fucking language
10:17
nazis and they get offended if you use
10:20
the term running when it comes to using
10:22
an operating system oh my god I better
10:23
stop this video I better stop this
10:25
livestream I better retire I better get
10:27
off of youtube these Americans are
10:31
hypocrites they claim that they support
10:33
freedom when now they’re communists
10:36
socialists cockroaches and their sensors
10:39
and they get fuckin butthurt over
10:41
language alright both computers now are
10:48
using Linux off of flash drives
10:56
2.0 USB flash drives you can install
11:00
Linux operating system on these and then
11:02
that’s it that’s your hard drive all’s I
11:07
did was connect the receiver which is
11:10
also which is the antenna into the USB
11:13
port on this lap this is the laptop that
11:16
this mouse is connected to
11:18
I can’t demonstrate because you won’t be
11:21
I’m not gonna go through all that but
11:23
here I can prove to you that the mouse
11:25
still works because I’m going to turn it
11:26
on
11:27
it hasn’t an off on button right here
11:31
you you just slide it down to turn it on
11:34
and you should be able to see the red
11:36
light
11:46
okay so let me turn it off and no
11:51
problems Linux it just BAM plugged in
11:54
the receiver
11:55
I obviously installed the batteries and
11:58
then I turned it on I did not hit the
12:01
use the connect button and I just moved
12:04
the mouse and and the Linux it works
12:06
just fine even though it doesn’t say if
12:08
it’s compatible with Linux use
12:12
comfortably with either hand all its
12:14
ambidextrous I did not know that that
12:16
this is an ambidextrous Mouse Wow yeah
12:20
I’m not left-handed but you district and
12:23
then the forward and reverse buttons are
12:26
on the left so whatever okay PC and Mac
12:32
compatible Mac compatible with USB
12:34
adapter now what what the fuck
12:37
personal computer and Mac compatible Mac
12:40
compatible with USB adapter
12:42
you mean the receiver oh oh that’s right
12:49
I think that this is what they’re
12:51
talking about
12:51
the newer Macintosh computers I think do
12:57
you think they’ve got fucking weird shit
12:59
now on they’ve got the USB C and they’ve
13:04
got some special port on a Macintosh but
13:08
I’m pretty sure that the newer Mac’s
13:10
come with USB ports or are they saying
13:14
that you have to get or maybe they don’t
13:16
they have that I’m not a Mac expert I
13:19
can’t fucking remember who fucking cares
13:21
I don’t support Macintosh hardware Mac
13:25
and crap I mean excuse me political
13:27
correctness now this video is already 13
13:29
minutes it’s just a goddamn Mouse
13:30
alright I don’t make videos that often
13:33
so who cares
13:35
requires to triple-a batteries included
13:44
do not mix old and new bad reason do not
13:47
mix alkaline standards it carbon or
13:50
rechargeable NiCad nee MH batteries
13:54
battery life may vary depending on user
13:56
in computing conditions it doesn’t say
13:58
is compatible with Linux but most mice
14:00
I’ve ever used ever whether it’s a wired
14:02
mouse or Wireless they almost always
14:04
worked I don’t ever have problems there
14:08
is a connect button though that if it
14:10
doesn’t work for a reason it doesn’t
14:13
work we just click connect and it tells
14:15
the antenna the receiver to talk to the
14:17
mouse another thing you could do is you
14:19
could just reboot restart the computer
14:21
now there’s it came with a quick
14:24
instruction guide and the federal
14:29
Communist Commission I mean I don’t give
14:31
a fuck about the FCC okay I don’t need
14:38
to read that goodbye
14:42
alright now I can get back to important
14:45
thing activities like drinking my orange
14:47
juice and eating bananas if you are
14:55
lacking energy all’s you have to fuckin
14:59
do is drink orange juice or eat fruits
15:01
and vegetables it’s not fucking rocket
15:04
science you don’t need to drink coffee
15:06
that’s a fucking heroin addict that’s it
15:11
that’s like a drug addiction a coffee
15:13
caffeine that’s it that’s a stimulus
15:16
addiction
15:17
you don’t want stim stimulus a stimulant
15:21
no no no you eat natural fruits and
15:25
vegetables and yogya plenty of sugar
15:28
glucose and yeah or you just drink
15:31
orange juice and you’ll be just right
15:37
adios
