Another computer question to answer on a third party website where I earn supplemental income answering computer and technology related questions. This one deals with Microsoft Office for Android. Here is the original initial question quoted verbatim.
I previously purchased MS office. I now purchased a new mobile phone and would like to install on the new device. However, I cannot find the hard copy of the software.
What can be done?
You can download it by browsing to the following link on your Google Android. You will need to enter in your phone number or email address. You will be able to install Microsoft Office for Android.
Your Android device must have a Short Message Service functional service, in order to receive the Microsoft Office for Android download link. This individual was trying to install Microsoft Office for Google Android applications on a new Google Android device. Also, they were wanting to install Microsoft Office 2016 applications.
You can install the following Microsoft Office applications onto a Google Android.
Microsoft Skype for Business
You can even try Microsoft Office for Android for 30 days free. Also, I think you can just install one Microsoft Office application at a time. Back in the day, Microsoft required that you install every single application that came with Microsoft Office.
However, they now changed that requirement and now you can install just the Microsoft Office applications that you want and or need. The previous link also provides a buy now link, where you can purchase a Microsoft Office 365 subscription. These instructions were written for a Google Android for the installation of Microsoft Office on Android.
However, you can use these instructions for any Google Android device compatible with Microsoft office and any version of office compatible with the Google Android operating system.
I have owned an HTC Desire 626S Metro PCS for almost two years now. I have been extremely happy with this smart device. However, recently the screen quit working.
This might be due to the fact I am kind of rough so to speak on dumb devices, er I mean smart devices. I did NOT pay that much for this device to begin with. I was debating just buying another smart device.
However, I have been so satisfied with this Android, that I decided to salvage this device. I ordered a HTC Desire 626S Metro PCS replacement screen from eBay.com. I received this replacement screen in six days.
This screen frame is NOT the exact same one that I had before. I found out as I was trying to replace this screen that indeed it is NOT the exact same. This causes a bit of a problem when putting it back together.
However, this replacement screen does work successfully, so I will continue on with this tutorial. You will need some small tools. You will need a small hexadecimal and Phillips head screwdriver.
Also, you may want some small pliers or something you can loosen phone sized cables and pieces with. You may want a guitar pick for separating the pieces of plastic from each other. This smart device is comprised of three separate pieces of plastic.
The LCD screen with plastic frame, the rear cover, and the middle plastic piece that covers the battery and main circuit board. The rear cover can be removed with out loosening and screws. This is where you want a guitar pick or plastic pick to loosen the back cover.
You want to remove any SIM and or SD memory cards before replacing this screen. Once you remove the rear cover, you will then need to loosen eight total screws. Two of them are Phillips head screws. The remaining six are hexadecimal screws.
You will notice the battery is in the center. Now you will be able to remove the center plastic piece. You need to remove the battery.
The battery comes out real easy and is attached loosely to the main board. You will notice three ribbon cables. You want to loosen all three of them.
The replacement digitizer include two of the three ribbon cables. The one on the very left you need to save and attach to the new screen with digitizer. There are two circuit boards.
A skinny smaller one at the bottom. You will need to remove this circuit board after loosening the left hand side ribbon cable. Also, you need to loosen the antenna on the right hand side of this circuit board.
Two pieces of plastic on each side hold this small circuit board in place. You need to remove the main circuit board above. This board is where the battery connected to.
Two cameras, speaker, and headphones jack are connected to this main circuit board. Two pieces of plastic hold this circuit board in place. I was able to remove the circuit board with the four devices still attached.
You want to become aware that there are four devices attached so that you do NOT damage any of them. You want to loosen the two ribbon cables. Make certain that they are loosened before you pull out the main circuit board.
Now you will be transplanting the two circuit boards including attached devices onto the replacement LCD screen with digitizer and frame. I started by installing the small circuit board first. Then I attached the magnet to the board.
Next I connected the ribbon cable on left hand side. Finally, I attached black wireless cable on the right hand side. I installed the main circuit board at the top. I first attached the black ribbon cable on the right hand side.
The top right camera will snap into place. The headphones jack will also snap into place. The left hand side camera fits in nicely into place.
Finally, the speaker fits in nicely into place. There are two remaining ribbon cables you need to connect. The center one you connect to the main circuit board. The very left hand side circuit board you are transplanting from the previous LCD screen digitizer with frame.
Connect this ribbon cable to both top main circuit board and bottom smaller circuit board. Make certain all devices are in place and ribbon cables connected. The last device to attach is the battery. This easily connects to the main circuit board.
Place the center plastic cover over the LCD screen digitizer with frame. This is where I had to modify this replacement HTC Desire 626S Metro PCS screen. The plastic on the two sides and top did NOT fit tight.
Once I completed modifying the plastic it fit much tighter. I tightened the eight screws down. I snapped the rear cover back on.
I powered on the device and I saw the battery charging lightening bolt indicator. Over all I think it was a productive use of my time, replacing this screen. My overall advice is make certain you order the right replacement screen, which can save you time and headaches having to modify the plastic frame.
Apple technical support have been caught intentionally slowing down older iPhones because of a bug either with the actual phone handset or batteries. Technology corporation Primate Labs Incorporated helped to blow the wistle so to speak on Apple. With the help of a reddit post pertaining to this Apple Technical Support public relations debacle, Apple has now admitted that they have been intentionally and knowningly throttling Central Processing Unit usage on certain iPhone devices running iOS 10.2.1.
Instead of permanently fixing this bug either with faulty batteries and or handsets, Apple choose to remain secretive. Also, Apple technical support denied earlier claims that they were intentionally slowing down Apple iPhones. Now we know that Apple Incorporated lied about this fact.
Apple claims that some older iPhone 6 devices will unexpectedly power down because of faulty batteries. Apple did issue replacement batteries to those customers that qualified. However, now that Apple Technical Support admits what they denied before, they claim that in the future they might throttle central processing unit time on the Apple iPhone 7.
Here is Apple’s statement admitting what people have claimed for years that was happening:
“Our goal is to deliver the best experience for customers, which includes overall performance and prolonging the life of their devices. Lithium-ion batteries become less capable of supplying peak current demands when in cold conditions, have a low battery charge or as they age over time, which can result in the device unexpectedly shutting down to protect its electronic components. Last year we released a feature for iPhone 6, iPhone 6s and iPhone SE to smooth out the instantaneous peaks only when needed to prevent the device from unexpectedly shutting down during these conditions.
We’ve now extended that feature to iPhone 7 with iOS 11.2, and plan to add support for other products in the future.”
There is discussions on the Internet that this is just another Apple Corporation marketing scheme to get their loyal customers to purchase newer devices. I am a bit suspicious because why in the fuck has Apple technical support not fixed this issue yet if it is indeed a hardware flaw or bug? They alluded to using this same tactic of manipulating the amount of processor usage on future devices to include the iOS 7. According to GeekBench utility data, there is noticeable patterns between iOS 10.2 and iOS 10.2.1.
Google Android operating system has been tracking smart phones via cell phone towers. This has been occurring since early January of two thousand seventeen. What makes this even more perplexing is that Google Android operating system users with location services disabled, have been tracked as well.
As a matter of fact even individuals with Google Android operating system devices without Subscriber Identification Module installed. Your location information has been sent back to Google servers. You must have an Internet connection for this to occur.
Local cell phone tower data has been transmitted back to Google since early January of two thousand seventeen. Individuals at Google have admitted this practice. They claim that this practice of collecting cell tower location data will stop by the end of this month.
“In January of this year, we began looking into using Cell ID codes as an additional signal to further improve the speed and performance of message delivery. However, we never incorporated Cell ID into our network sync system, so that data was immediately discarded, and we updated it to no longer request Cell ID.”
Why would gathering location information via local cell phone towers improve speed and performance of message delivery? Google did NOT notify any of their device users, including myself, that this type of data was collected. I happen to have an HTC 626s Desire Android running marshmallow operating system.
Individuals at Google claim that this company does not use this data for their own purposes. Even if you were to restore your Google Android operating system back to factory, this data would be sent back to Google. As of this blog post creation, there is no way to disable this feature, until Google shuts off this data collection later this month.
For now, you have to disable Wifi so that no data is sent back to Google headquarters. Also, you could power off your Google Android device, and then take out the battery. Since Google failed to notify anyone of this data collection you were not allowed to opt out of this practice.
The One Plus release date for the OnePlus 5T smartphone is November twenty first two thousand seventeen. This smart device retails at $499. This device comes with dual cameras.
One 16 megapixel and one 20 megapixel camera. The body of this smartphone is made out of aluminum. You get an 18:9 Active Matrix Organic Light Emitting Diode display.
The Google Android operating system installed on this device os OnePlus’s oxygen operating system. Qualcomm’s 835 Snapdragon processor powers this device. This OnePlus 5T supports two Subscriber Identity Modules.
You can connect to two networks at the same time. OnePlus claims that you can charge thiw smartphone in 30 minutes and have enough battery life for the entire day. Sales begin for the One Plus release date for the 5T on November 21, 2017.
This device comes with up to eight gigabytes of Ramdom Access Memory and one hundred twenty eight gigabytes of storage space. The operating system shipped with these devices is OnePlus Oxygen operating system based off of Google Android Nougat 7.1.1.
Apples new phone the iPhone X has a security feature called Face IDentification. This security feature is designed to thart unauthorized access to this device. However, security firm Bkav Corporation has debunked this alleged security feature.
This security measure tecnology uses Artificial Intelligence learning to secure your Apple iPhone X. However, Bkav Corporation created a mask that circumvented this security feature. This security company knew how Apple’s Artificial Intelligence works.
Also, in two thousand eight this company was the first to prove that facial IDentification recognition is not proper security for laptops. This company created a mask that according to them was not as difficult to create as most people think. Also, Bkav Corporation claims that really you only need to create half of a persons face in order to circumvent Apple’s Face IDentification technology.
This company used the following in order to bypass Apple’s Face IDentification feature.

This mask cost approximately one hundred fifty United States dollars. Bkev Corporation claims they started making this mask on November fifth two thousand seventeen. It took them approximately six days to Circumvent the Apples new phone the iPhone X.
Bkav Corporation claims that fingerprint security is the best biometric technology. I have never used biometric technology to secure any device. I have tested finger print technology with an older International Business Machines laptop.
I would NOT dream of using facial recognition to secure a device. Perhaps that is because I am not really that obsessed with securing computers and dumb devices, I mean smart devices. It is interesting that this company has known that facial recognition is not reliable enough to provide security and yet you have a billion dollar corporation rolling out this technology in Apples new phone the iPhone X.
The Google Pixel 2 has been nothing short of a disaster since its release to some endusers. Another problem has creeped up with this dumb device, er I mean smart device. You see many owners of the Google Pixel 2 are complaining that they are unable to use bluetooth headphones with Google assistant.
Support personnel over at Google are aware of this problem and are allegedly working on a fix. Current patches for other problems with the Google Pixel 2 will not fix this bug. Coincedentally, although I do NOT always believe in coincidences, Google is releasing their Pixel Buds which retail at $159 with possible free shipping.
Pre-orders of the Pixel Buds will arrive in the next week or two. I do NOT know if the Pixel Buds will work via bluetooth with Google Assistant. Allegedly, one person with Google Pixel Buds also is having this problem.
However, many consumers are unable to get third party headphones to work with Google assistant. One of Google’s explanations for why some headsets won’t work via bluetooth on the Pixel 2 is that headsets must be bluetooth 5.0 compatible. Apparently the Google Pixel 2 is shipped with bluetooth 5.0.
Why their device is NOT backwards compatible with earlier versions of bluetooth is beyond me. The Google Pixel 2 also ships with the latest Google Android operating system Oreo. Some consumers claim that Google Assistant will work with but the phone was NOT locked and screen was on.
We shall see if and when Google releases a patch to fix this issue. As of this blog post creation, team Google has NOT released a patch. Finally, this is NOT the only problem with the Google Pixel 2.
Some consumers have reported that they were shipped a Google Pixel 2 smart device without an operating system installed. You cannot make this information up. I do NOT own a Google made Android and I do NOT use Google Assistant.
T Mobile 4G LTE Bands now include Gigabit speeds. T-Mobile USA Incorporated announced that 430 of their markets will now have access to this Long Term Evolution advanced technology. Customers must possess Snapdragon gigabit Long Term Evolution advanced modems in their smartphone devices.
Actually, T-Mobile USA Incorporated has expanded to more than 930 markets with their Long Term Evolution Advanced technology. However, for now only 430 markets are capable of receiving one gigabit speeds. You can possibly double your current speeds on T-Mobile’s network.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor has eight cores. This smartphone actually has two rear facing cameras. One is thirteen megapixels while the second one is twelve megapixels.

What is the latest iOS update you ask? Apple Incorporated released iOS update version 11.1 on October thirty one two thousand seventeen. Eight security issues have been addressed and mitigated in this version of iOS.

You can update your device either over a wireless connection or via the iTunes software. It is recommended you plugin your device into a wall outlet, while performing this upgrade. Also, it is recommended that you backup your device with iCloud or iTunes, before you attempt this upgrade.
