Microsoft Patch – The Update is Not Applicable to Your Computer

I received a question from a reader of a Microsoft security updates servicing stack version KB4022405 blog post pertaining to a Microsoft patch. They are receiving this “The update is not applicable to your computer” error message with Microsft Windows operating system security updates. The only time I recall seeing this error is when I attempted to install a Microsoft Windows operating system update manually.

“Hello in my PC this update gives me an error this update is not applicable in your computer how to fix it”

Also, I was actually trying to install the incorrect Microsoft Windows operating system platform version. What this means is that I was trying to install a Microsoft Windows operating system patch for x86 processors on a computer with an x64 processor and vice versa. I have never seen this error show up without me trying to manually install a Microsoft Windows operating system update.

You will want to make sure that you are installing updates for the correct version of Microsoft Windows operating system that you have installed on your computer. Obviously, you cannot install a Microsoft patch for Microsoft Windows ten operating system on Microsoft Windows seven operating system and vice versa. Also, you will want to become certain what type of processor your computer system has physically installed.

You can attempt to verify whether or not your computer system has an x86 thirty two bit microprocessor or an x64 sixty four bit processor. If you attempt to install a Microsoft Windows operating system patch developed for an x86 thirty two bit central processing unit on a computer with an x64 sixty four bit central processing unit, you will see this error message. In Microsoft Windows eXPerience, Vista, seven, eight, 8.1, ten, and eleven operating systems, you can choose the “System” option in “Control Panel”, in order to view what type of microprocessor your computer system was manufactured with.

Microsoft claims that you may see this error message for numerous other reasons. One of them being that a newer update superseded an older update. What this means is that the older update is no longer required, because a newer update took its place so to speak.

You may receive this “The update is not applicable in your computer” error message if the update you are trying to install is already installed. I already went over how the Microsoft Windows operating system patch you are trying to install is not correct for the physical computer system architecture. Finally, your computer with Microsoft windows operating system might be missing a prerequisite update.

What this means is that the Microsoft Windows operating system update you are trying to install, will not install successfully because a previous update has to become installed first. Then you can install this update that is causing this error message. Basically, you are just missing an older prerequisite Microsoft Windows update.
