Android Nougat 7.0 – Causing Nexus 6P Battery to Drain Rapidly

Quite a few endusers are complaining that upgrading their Huawei Nexus 6P smartphone to Google’s Android Nougat smartphone operating system is draining this devices' battery. This seems to occur on Google Android Nougat operating system version seven 7.0, seven point one 7.1,  and seven point one dot one 7.1.1 respectfully. Google support has not responded to this problem as of yet.

Some Huawei Nexus 6P smartphone owners were able to rectify this battery drain problem by upgrading to the Google Android Nougat smartphone operating system version seven point one dot one 7.1.1. However, other endusers are still complaining even after installing the Google Android smartphone operating system seven point one dot one 7.1.1. Google Android Nougat smartphone operating system version seven dot one dot one 7.1.1 is currently just beta software.

Many endusers see major problems when the battery life nears twenty-five percent charged. Either this Huawei Nexus 6P smartphone will completely shut off or discharge even faster. One possible solution that some endusers tried was to boot into the safe mode option and allow this smartphone device to completely discharge.

Once the Huawei Nexus 6P smartphone device is shut off, then performing a complete charge to one hundred percent rectified this problem. Another possible solution was to perform a factory data reset. Downgrading, if possible, back to Google Android Marshmallow version six smartphone operating system seemed to also fix this problem.

This problem seems not just exclusive with the Huawei Nexus 6P smartphone device. Other major brands and models of smartphones seem susceptible to this Google Android Nougat version seven operating system quagmire. However, even some Huwei Nexus 6P smartphone device owners claim that this device’s battery is not draining abnormally after upgrading to Google Android version seven smartphone operating system.

A thread over on Reddit has hundreds of comments documenting this seemingly software related issue. Individuals will perform certain tasks. For example, taking a picture, surfing the Internet, watching a YouTube video, etc. when, all of a sudden, whatever Google Android smartphone device they have completely shuts off.

Some of these smartphone devices will then not power on without plugging into the active current power adapter or universal serial bus charger. For now, it seems as if possible that this Google Android Nougat version seven operating system issue is specifically succinctly, primarily affecting the Huawei Nexus 6P smartphone device. However, reports of other Google Android smartphone devices being affected may alter this viewpoint.

Hopefully, Google support will look into this issue further if it is indeed affecting a large number of endusers. If not, endusers will have to try to narrow down and troubleshoot this issue themselves until a possible software patch is created.

Android Nougat 7.0 – Causing Nexus 6P Battery to Drain Rapidly Video Transcript

0:00

Ultra video putter te Android nougat 7.0

0:05

is causing a nexus 6p battery to bein

0:08

rapidly there's quite a few end users on

0:12

reddit complaining about this and then

0:14

also a YouTube video was made but I

0:17

think is linked on this reddit post

0:20

thread that I will get to it's affecting

0:24

primarily Nexus 6p owners that I think

0:29

it's also affecting other smart devices

0:32

it is with Google's Android new GATT

0:37

which is the latest greatest 7.0 it

0:42

seems as if it owners that have seven

0:45

point zero seven point one and even

0:47

seven point one dot one are seeing their

0:50

battery get drained exponentially

0:54

greater than before with Android six

0:56

marshmallow Google has not responded as

1:00

of yet some solutions is to upgrade from

1:07

Android new get seven zero to 7.1.1

1:11

however some users are still complaining

1:15

that even after installing 7.1.1 they

1:18

are still having problems with the

1:20

battery life and then

1:23

you'll get 7.1.1 is beta software it's

1:28

still in beta

1:31

it seems around the 25% percentile were

1:37

these smart devices especially the Nexus

1:42

6p they start acting weird they shut off

1:47

quite quickly or they even discharged

1:51

quicker and or discharged quicker now

1:56

one possible solution is to boot into a

1:58

safe mode and then allow this device to

2:00

completely discharge and then once in

2:02

safe mode and that device shuts off

2:06

because the battery gets discharged then

2:07

you charge it completely to 100% and

2:12

then some end users notice that that

2:15

would fix this issue another possible

2:19

solution is to perform a factory data

2:22

reset and then downgrading to

2:24

marshmallow six if possible like I

2:30

stipulated earlier it seems as if it's

2:32

not just exclusive to Nexus 6p there are

2:36

other smart device owners that don't

2:39

necessarily have a nexus 6p that notices

2:43

problem but there's quite a few owners

2:45

of the Nexus 6p that are complaining

2:52

and it seems like it's not a hundred

2:55

percent affecting all Nexus 6p device

3:01

owners but quite a few are complaining

3:03

here's the thread over at reddit we can

3:06

check it out quickly at the end so it

3:11

seems around the 25% percentile

3:14

somewhere close to 25% then end users

3:17

will be taking photos with a camera

3:20

surfing the internet watching youtube

3:22

video and then all of a sudden that

3:23

device shuts off and it won't power on

3:26

with some users the device will not even

3:29

power back on without playing it into an

3:31

AC adapter or a USB charger or charging

3:37

it via a USB port

3:40

it seems mostly with Nexus 6p but not

3:46

exclusive

3:49

hopefully Google will look into this

3:51

issue and then release a patch until

3:55

then owners will have to troubleshoot it

3:59

on their own and try to find some kind

4:00

of a solution this reddit thread I will

4:04

include a link to this blog post at my

4:07

website in our computer console that you

4:08

can peruse it on your own accord and

4:10

then you can check out this reddit

4:12

thread there's quite a few comments as

4:14

of a few minutes ago about 274 comments

4:19

there's a few other articles on the

4:21

internet with quite a few comments but I

4:23

chose just to link to Reddit battery

4:28

will drain and doze will never kick in

4:37

some end-users I think were thinking of

4:41

RM a net return merchandise

4:43

authorization but I think it's possibly

4:47

a software problem and not necessarily a

4:50

hardware problem with your battery so as

4:54

you can see quite a bit of comments

4:57

shutting down here's a note for would

5:02

die once it hit 40% Nexus 5 after

5:08

upgrade and marshmallow with 6p going

5:14

from 60 to 70% to 10% in an instant or

5:18

from 20% to dead

5:20

I noticed reading through a lot of these

5:22

comments that it seemed around the 25%

5:25

tile where just any task would just

5:31

completely shut off the device and then

5:35

also another symptom is battery drain

5:38

just the your battery would drain

5:40

quickly compared to when your Android

5:44

device was running marshmallow anyways

5:46

you can peruse through this reddit

5:49

thread it's the public service

5:51

announcement many Nexus 6p owners are

5:53

experiencing random battery failure

5:57

Google up to no good again are you
