If you are the owner of an American Telephone and Telegraph Calypso 2 smartphone, you may need to replace the battery at some point in time. I will provide instructions so that you can accomplish this task pretty easily. First thing you want to do is to power off your American Telephone and Telegraph Calypso 2 smartphone.
You will press and hold the power button for a few seconds. You will see an option to “Power Off” that device. Once it is powered off, then you can proceed with the removal of your battery.
You do not need to remove any screws. You will want to remove the satin silver back plastic cover. The only tool required is a guitar pick or a smartphone pick.
A smartphone pick is the preferred tool. However, if you do not have one, you can try using a guitar pick. I would not suggest using any kind of metal device, as you may accidentally scratch the glass while attempting to remove the back cover.
The back cover comes off by using a thin device such as a smartphone pick to separate the back cover from the rest of the smartphone device. You could use a finger nail to gain this separation. Now, once you separate the back plastic cover, start moving down or up to separate the back cover.
Continue using the pick object to separate the back plastic cover. You may need to separate both sides and the top and bottom. Eventually, the plastic back cover will fall off or you will be able to remove it yourself.
Once you remove the back plastic satin silver cover, you can then remove the battery. The battery is quite large in comparison to the rest of the American Telephone and Telegraph Calypso 2 smartphone. However, it is quite thin.
There is a small indentation near one of the corners. You can use the same guitar pick, smartphone pick, finger nail, etc. to lift up the battery at this indentation. The battery can then be removed quite easily.
That is all there is to it. Nothing else holds down that battery. No screw removal is necessary to remove the battery.
Once you remove that American Telephone and Telegraph Calypso 2 battery, you can obviously install the replacement battery. There are four gold contact points both on the battery and the battery compartment. All you have to do is match them together when you install the replacement battery.
The battery gently snaps into place. Then you can install the satin silver plastic back cover. When installing it again, you will hear some snapping noises as you press down on the cover.
You may want to press down on all four sides and corners to make sure it is tight. Speaking of replacement batteries. If you have not yet ordered the replacement battery for your AT&T Calypso 2 smartphone, I will provide the part number and model number.

How to Replace AT&T Calypso 2 Phone Battery U319AA - Video Transcript
0:00
hey this is Aaron with
0:03
anetcomputers.com I want to show you
0:05
how to replace the battery
0:07
on this Calypso 2 from American
0:10
Telephone or Telegraph a TNT smartphone
0:15
the exact model is a
0:20
or excuse me
0:22
u319a8 it's in the title of the video
0:25
also okay so it's it's not that
0:28
difficult
0:29
all you do is you want to take this back
0:32
cover off you have to you know you want
0:34
to power off the device this is not
0:38
turned on
0:39
and if you notice the satin silver back
0:43
cover and then the black
0:46
you know the glass and all that so right
0:49
where they the two meet you want to take
0:53
like maybe a guitar pick or smartphone
0:57
repair kits come with little plastic
1:04
their picks you could I would not you
1:07
may not want to use something like this
1:08
because you don't want to scratch the
1:09
glass actually I probably I wouldn't
1:12
advise that but something even like
1:16
something this size but probably plastic
1:20
because you don't want to scratch the
1:22
glass now the cover does not have any
1:25
screws if you notice there are no screws
1:31
holding it down none so what you want to
1:34
do is
1:36
is just you could take your fingernails
1:39
and then later on this video I will go
1:42
over the battery you may you may have
1:44
not ordered the battery yet and I can
1:46
give you the battery number but
1:49
so what I'm going to do is I'm just
1:51
going to pick it up and I'm going to
1:53
angle it and I think I'm just going to
1:55
take my fingernail
1:58
and then
2:00
I should be able there we go right there
2:03
you see where the silver and the black
2:07
it comes apart now so I'm just gonna
2:09
move my fingernail and then until it
2:12
becomes loose on one side
2:16
and then you see how you see where my
2:18
fingernail is at right there you see how
2:20
it's coming apart
2:22
all right so now I can that you want to
2:24
be careful I'm just going to move it
2:26
around
2:27
and on this side I'm going to loosen it
2:30
further
2:35
and then on this and then we see how
2:37
it's coming apart
2:39
so you just want to
2:40
move like a a guitar pick or a
2:44
smartphone pick
2:46
you can order those kits online
2:49
and then okay so it's almost all the way
2:51
out there we go so it came off see now
2:54
it's designed to come off but it's made
2:56
out of plastic so who knows how long
2:58
that will last so you might I would not
3:01
you I just wanted to show you something
3:02
that
3:03
you know is comparable size but this is
3:06
made out of metal in in I don't think
3:09
that would be a good idea because you
3:10
don't want to scratch the glass and
3:13
okay I wish I had one of those picks
3:16
with me I don't have many more
3:18
so as you can see it's just a standard
3:21
back cover
3:22
and you notice there's no screws
3:26
you know what I mean so it's designed to
3:28
come off without any screws okay so now
3:30
you have a smartphone
3:32
and I probably should just put it back
3:36
I'll use the cover for it I don't want
3:39
to scratch the front glass I'm going to
3:41
flip it
3:43
let's see I'm going to flip it on it on
3:47
top of it just like that and so here's
3:50
the battery right there
3:52
and I could even now what you do is you
3:57
just
4:01
not where the camera is at where my
4:03
finger is but the opposite side there's
4:05
just a little Notch there that you pull
4:08
the battery out and that's it so I'm
4:10
just going to pull it out right there
4:15
oh it's right here you see where my
4:17
fingernail is at there's a notch right
4:19
there
4:20
a guitar pick or a smartphone pick would
4:24
help but I can use my fingernail and the
4:27
battery it comes out and that's it
4:29
that's it that's all we have to do now
4:33
I don't know how good this camera is it
4:36
May
4:37
show the model the battery model number
4:40
it's kind of blurry I'm not sure why
4:42
that is
4:44
is it too close to the camera it may be
4:47
let me try to
4:49
move out whatever anyways that's the
4:53
battery right there that's all you have
4:54
to do so I'll just you know I don't have
4:56
a replacement this is a good battery
4:57
they're pretty thin
5:00
this is a 2500 milliamp hours battery
5:03
that came with it let me give you the
5:06
model number of the battery all right
5:08
the model number is you can't really see
5:12
it but I can see it
5:17
it is
5:20
lt25h 42 627 1w so if you have not
5:26
ordered replacement yet you can get the
5:28
model number directly off the battery
5:31
or another place is
5:37
the ATT Calypso which came in this box
5:42
right here
5:44
it actually
5:46
I made an error in
5:49
my first video about this Calypso where
5:52
I demonstrated it I sent it I did not
5:55
replace a battery actually I did I just
5:57
you know I get busy but actually the
5:59
battery came in this little pouch this
6:02
little plastic pouch whatever it's got a
6:05
part name it's got a part number I'll
6:08
give you the part number two it's the
6:10
same model that's on the battery
6:12
so the part number is
6:17
p104 b f t 004 and then zero zero zero
6:23
zero three zeros okay
6:25
if you can't for some reason you know
6:28
maybe the battery is so old that it that
6:31
the model number you can't see it or I
6:33
don't know but you can you can try to
6:35
order it with
6:37
the part number all right
6:40
and so let's say this you know blah blah
6:42
blah blah oh my oh my
6:44
this is Aaron with Anna computers and
6:47
I'm you know and I just sort of this
6:49
battery and I need to know what I'm
6:51
saying okay I'm done with that but we're
6:55
just going to play along and act like
6:56
we're going to and so this side right
6:59
here the gold connectors is where it
7:01
connects to the
7:03
the smartphone which is actually if you
7:05
can see it right there
7:07
so these batteries are almost impossible
7:10
to install wrong you see the four gold
7:12
connectors there and there's the model
7:14
number of the smartphone that I told you
7:16
earlier
7:17
u319 double A and that will be in the
7:20
title of the video
7:22
and so these are hard to you know
7:25
install wrong so what you do is just do
7:28
this and then boom
7:32
there that's it you just it just gentle
7:36
they're they're that's it there's not
7:38
there's no screws there's nothing else
7:40
that that holds it in
7:43
now I'm just going to flip the
7:45
smartphone over delicately I don't want
7:48
to scratch the glass
7:50
and then I'm just going to put the color
7:52
back on and I'll show you that do I need
7:55
anything else no I showed you the part
7:57
number and the part number matches on
8:00
the battery
8:02
it's a 3.85 volt L ion battery the the
8:08
capacity 25 50 milliamp hours
8:13
the rated capacity is 2500 milliamp
8:16
hours limited charge voltage 4.4
8:22
what else does it say
8:27
it doesn't have the part number on the
8:29
battery but that's okay that's it that's
8:30
all you have to do
8:32
and in the future I'm going to record
8:34
another video showing you how to replace
8:37
the SIM card
8:40
which I'll give you a hint
8:42
it's right here and I'm going to show
8:45
you how to replace the
8:47
the subscriber identity module card and
8:51
also the
8:53
what is it smart digital car because
8:55
they're in the same little clip yup
8:58
it just slides out but I'm not gonna
9:00
that that'll be a future video all right
9:03
okay so let me put the cover back on I
9:05
don't really have anything else oh you
9:07
know what my bad the smart I just saw it
9:10
I was you know what I was thinking of
9:12
another Android that I have I have an
9:13
older
9:15
what is it a Motorola
9:17
[Music]
9:19
a Motorola an older Motorola
9:26
what is it a Motorola
9:29
Razor I don't know it's really old
9:31
that's right the in that smartphone that
9:34
I tried to salvage
9:37
I couldn't unlock it
9:40
and
9:42
the subscriber identity module card and
9:45
the smart digital card were in the same
9:48
little clip so I was wrong okay it's
9:50
actually right there that white right
9:53
there is the Smart digital card but I
9:56
believe that I've seen this before I'm
9:58
pretty sure
9:59
that this is where the SIM card is at
10:02
subscriber identity module card
10:04
they look just like that okay
10:09
the little Clips I'm pretty sure that's
10:11
where it's at or you know what I'm wrong
10:13
again
10:14
that looks like the little it's actually
10:17
right there here is the micro SD card
10:20
and there is a Sim okay anyways that'll
10:23
be a future video
10:24
here I'll just point it let me Point
10:26
them out again
10:29
micro SD card right there and then the
10:33
white is the The Sims a subscriber
10:36
identity module card that's what those
10:37
acronyms stand for
10:39
okay so the coverage just goes back on
10:42
and just you know just boom
10:47
can you hear that
10:49
they'll snap a little bit
10:52
yeah you might want to check all corners
10:54
and I know I messed up the glass I know
10:56
you're going to yell at me like that but
10:57
you know what before before this video I
11:00
cleaned the glass up and now I got my
11:01
paintable prints that you can see let me
11:03
clean up the fingerprints because you
11:05
know how dare I
11:08
okay I cleaned up the fingerprints for
11:11
you
11:12
as you can see in the reflection no more
11:15
fingerprints that's it that's all you
11:17
have to do to replace the battery
11:20
yourself you don't need to take it
11:22
anywhere you don't need any screws the
11:25
only tool is that you do not want to use
11:29
something metal like this because this
11:32
could potentially scratch the glass
11:34
because remember when you take the
11:36
battery out it's right you really kind
11:39
of want to use a pick or a fingernail or
11:43
a smartphone pick or a guitar pick but
11:46
it's right there where the so the satin
11:50
silver
11:51
and the the black the glass and so you
11:55
need something really
11:57
you know thin
11:59
to separate the two and you don't you
12:02
may accidentally you know I don't know
12:03
if this could scratch the glass but I
12:05
wouldn't I wouldn't
12:07
risk it so that's why those picks are
12:10
excellent
12:12
okay that's it
12:18
oh you can look for for my other video
12:21
where I show you how to I might do it in
12:23
the same video if not it'll be two
12:25
separate videos where I show you how to
12:27
replace the
12:30
micro smart digital card and the
12:36
subscriber identity module card
