Another computer problem in the information technology sector world order. This time, a customer of mine, on a third party website, where by I earn supplemental income, helping people with their information technology problems, could not get their computer to function properly. This was their brief explanation.
Hewlett Packard not working.
I think initially originally this problem was categorized as a printer problem. However, Hewlett Packard still manufactures computers as well as printers. I had an initial question for this customer. What operating system are you using?
For example Microsoft Windows 7, Microsoft Windows 8, or Microsoft Windows 10. This customers yet again brief response.
Microsoft Windows 10.
Here is my response. You can turn off that computer. Remove the battery if it is a laptop computer. Disconnect the power cable from both wall outlet and your computer.
Press and hold the power button for sixty seconds. Plug the power cable back into your wall outlet and your computer. Power on your computer and see if Microsoft Windows will now boot successfully.
This individual never responded back and I received credit and compensation for my troubleshooting information. Their problem, could have been electro static discharge. This type of problem effects laptops more in my experiences then desktop computers.
However, desktop computers can also become susceptible to this problem. Here are some additional tips, if your computer freezes up, will not boot, restart, etc. Many modern computers include both a reset button and power button.
Also, these modern computers will include power, reset, and hard drive indicator lights. Normally, you do not want to perform a cold boot with your computer. This essentially means that you cut the power from your computer.
Most computer operating systems require a graceful dismount of the computer file system. If you remove power from your computer before the file system is dismounted, that computer file system can become corrupt. I have seen computers no longer boot the operating system successfully after power was cut and before the file system was dismounted gracefully.
This is an apropos time to lecture you about always having your data backed up. Sometimes a computer will freeze for many different reasons. A failing hard drive, overheating computer, random access memory failure, etc.
If you absolutely cannot restart your computer either with ctrl alt delete keys, restart command, physical reset button on your computer, etc. then you will have to resort to performing a cold boot. You can monitor your power button, reset button, hard drive lights for activity. You can try to press your computer power button for a few seconds and the operating system may shut down.
If absolutely necessary, you can press and hold the power button until the computer shuts off. Another procedure is to disconnect the power cable from both your computer and the electric wall outlet. This is never a good idea unless you have concluded that the computer has completely froze up.
You can then try to release any possible electro static discharge by holding the power button for one minute. Also, remember to remove the battery if you have a laptop. Another tip if you have a laptop is to try to power on your computer without your laptop battery.
Believe it or not I have actually seen computer laptops with failing batteries not boot the operating system. They will not post the basic input output system. This type of symptom is rare.
However, I have seen this occur on more than one occasion.

another computer problem in the world
00:04
order this one deals with a
00:08
computer
00:11
and
00:15
they stipulated that their hp not
00:17
working originally it may have been
00:22
categorized as a printer problem but
00:24
hewlett-packard they obviously also
00:26
manufacture computers
00:29
i asked this customer
00:32
what operating system are you using for
00:34
example microsoft windows 7 8 or 10
00:38
and they responded with microsoft
00:40
windows 10 oh another problem problem
00:43
with microcrap micro slop wind blows tan
00:46
operating system
00:49
they didn't give me that
00:52
many further details they just
00:54
stipulated that
00:55
their computer was not working and this
00:58
is what i had recommended
01:01
this would be kind of considered a cold
01:04
boot pers i guess per se
01:08
computer technicians use
01:11
certain terms you know what i'm saying
01:13
which
01:14
i don't i don't want to digress about
01:16
that some of them are really serious
01:18
about them others just not
01:21
i'm not i don't argue semantics all
01:23
right so now i'm going to tell you what
01:27
possibly fix this problem problemo
01:31
now the first thing you want to do
01:33
is if your computer now that's a very
01:35
generic term
01:37
hp not working hewlett packard not
01:39
working well what is is it not working
01:42
is it not booting up is it not turning
01:44
on
01:45
is your email not working you know what
01:47
i'm saying
01:48
this is what i recommended
01:50
you turn off your computer this is what
01:52
i told them turn off that computer
01:54
if it is a laptop remove the the battery
01:58
then disconnect the power cable from
02:00
both the wall outlet
02:03
and the computer itself
02:05
then you want to press and hold the
02:07
power button for one minute
02:10
up to 60 seconds
02:12
then
02:13
plug the power cable back into the wall
02:16
outlet and computer
02:20
now power on that computer
02:23
and see if microsoft wind blows 10 will
02:28
boot
02:30
this is kind of considered a cold boot
02:33
although a cold boot is technically i
02:36
think where you cut off the power now
02:38
let me give you some tips and some
02:40
warnings
02:42
if the operating system is still
02:44
functioning
02:46
you may not want to perform a cold boot
02:48
or even a warm boot
02:51
unless you absolutely have to microsoft
02:54
this is a age old problem this is
02:56
nothing new with microsoft operating
02:58
system
03:01
well it's not just microsoft you never
03:04
ever want to just
03:06
remove the power from a computer because
03:08
most operating systems i would say most
03:11
if not all
03:12
well it really depends on google android
03:15
that is
03:16
obviously an operating system you can
03:19
basically perform
03:21
a cold boot on an android
03:24
that operating system i think is
03:25
designed for that but most computer
03:27
operating systems know
03:29
what what the problem is
03:31
is that
03:32
a computer operating system file system
03:35
has to become dismounted
03:38
it must be dismounted first
03:41
and then you would
03:43
restart that operating system or you
03:45
would shut down the operating system
03:47
there's terms like restart or reboot you
03:49
know what i'm saying
03:51
that is
03:52
what the more proper procedure is
03:55
sometimes the computer just freezes it
03:57
could be the hard work there could be
03:58
many different reasons maybe it
04:01
overheated
04:03
maybe the ram the random access memory
04:05
seized up maybe the hard drive
04:08
failed whatever the reasons are and you
04:11
have to
04:12
perform a cold boot but i'm just giving
04:14
you this additional potential gold tip
04:17
never ever
04:19
just disconnect the power cable from a
04:22
computer
04:23
that is still functioning whether it's
04:25
linux apple mac and crap
04:28
micro
04:29
soft wind blows micro crap wind blows
04:32
no linux is not perfect i just haven't
04:34
come up with a derogatory name yet
04:37
for linux yet when i will or when i do i
04:40
will start using one
04:44
so that is a warning
04:46
you know what i'm saying
04:48
if necessary if you have no other choice
04:52
yeah another
04:53
way that you can potentially possibly
04:56
tell if that computer seized up or it
05:00
you know i mean where it will require
05:02
a call so a cold boot is when
05:05
you
05:07
remove the power from the computer you
05:10
either unplug the cable physically or
05:13
you know i'm saying or you press
05:16
on the power button
05:17
and then try well here's another tip
05:20
another way instead of just cutting the
05:22
power right away is press and hold the
05:25
power button while the computer if the
05:27
computer is still on
05:31
and give it 30 seconds or a minute a lot
05:33
of modern computers
05:35
if you press and hold the power button
05:38
actually it will restart it
05:41
that is much better because then the
05:42
file system becomes dismounted properly
05:46
and then it will power cycle itself
05:49
you know what i'm saying now if the
05:52
symptoms are that the computer just does
05:54
not work there is no power
05:56
you can monitor the
05:58
lights on a computer
06:00
some of them have a hard drive light
06:02
some of them have the power button has a
06:05
light it could be blue
06:07
what red blue may even green
06:10
just try to monitor the status of the
06:13
lights and see if those lights keep
06:15
flashing
06:17
and see if the hard drive
06:19
light turns on
06:21
obviously if the computer you
06:23
press the power button and there's
06:25
nothing this is these instructions are a
06:28
bit
06:28
more proper for that scenario
06:31
although
06:32
you know what i mean
06:33
although this could be a cold boot too
06:36
now
06:38
if you're using a laptop computer
06:41
there is a potential problem i'm not
06:43
sure about modern laptops i
06:45
well i've owned a few lot modern laptops
06:47
but
06:49
they're probably
06:50
what they're not
06:52
yeah
06:54
they're not going to be brand new
06:56
anymore
06:58
and this still may be a problem
07:00
sometimes a laptop battery starts
07:03
failing it does not charge properly
07:06
it will discharge quickly and this is a
07:09
strange one but it it does occur once in
07:11
a while sometimes a failing laptop
07:14
battery
07:15
or just the laptop battery will cause a
07:17
computer not to power on
07:19
it just will not power on and then
07:20
there's another concept called
07:24
static electro discharge electric status
07:27
discharge esd is the acronym which
07:30
stands for electrostatic discharge
07:33
this
07:34
according to my observations this
07:36
happens more with a laptop than a
07:38
desktop computer but it certainly could
07:40
occur with a desktop computer
07:42
it deals with physics
07:44
these are electronic components and
07:46
sometimes they still have power in them
07:50
and you can look up that term
07:51
electrostatic discharge
07:53
sometimes there's i'm at the eight
07:55
minute mark sometimes there's still
07:57
electric buildup
07:58
and that can cause an electronic device
08:02
not to power on properly and that also
08:04
includes computers so that is why
08:08
you would
08:11
remove the
08:12
computer from power
08:14
remove the battery and then press and
08:16
hold on the power button for 60 seconds
08:19
that will potentially
08:21
discharge that electric buildup that is
08:24
causing that electrostatic discharge
08:27
symptom or problem
08:30
now if it's a laptop
08:32
leave the battery out do not
08:35
install the battery it could be the
08:37
battery that's causing the problem so
08:39
what you're doing is you're trying to
08:40
narrow down what
08:42
actually is causing your computer
08:45
a hewlett packard although these tips
08:48
and instructions can certainly be used
08:49
for any type of a computer
08:52
any brand doesn't matter the brand
08:55
for search engine optimization the video
08:57
will be titled for a helix packard
08:59
computer your arm stand that's just how
09:02
i roll
09:03
if you're offended by that i can't help
09:04
you
09:06
go listen to the youtube technology
09:08
shills you know i'm saying
09:11
now
09:13
once you've followed these instructions
09:17
now go ahead and plug in the power cable
09:19
into the desktop computer or laptop
09:21
computer and then press on the power
09:23
button
09:24
and hopefully it'll power on this occurs
09:27
a lot more often than you think it could
09:29
be electrostatic discharge if it's a
09:31
laptop it could be a failing battery i
09:33
would even say that the battery might
09:35
still be good
09:36
it's just for computers are very flaky
09:39
they're not perfect i i know some of the
09:41
youtube technology shills i don't know
09:43
if they're being paid but they claim
09:44
that computers are perfect and email is
09:47
perfect and operating systems are
09:49
perfect no
09:50
or
09:51
solid state hard drives are perfect no
09:54
no no i have decades worth of
09:58
information technology
10:00
primarily troubleshooting computer
10:02
problems all day long for people
10:04
no computers are very flaky
10:09
you know and then it also can deal with
10:11
physics and electricity and
10:13
et cetera ad nauseam ad infinitum
10:17
now this individual followed these
10:19
instructions i did not receive a
10:22
response back however on this
10:24
third-party website whereby i earn
10:27
supplemental income
10:29
helping people
10:30
with their computer problems
10:32
information technology problems email
10:34
problems etc nauseous manifold item as a
10:36
real world computer technician
10:39
they
10:42
i receive compensation now i'm not going
10:44
to go into details with this company at
10:46
one time
10:48
we would have to receive
10:51
the customers would have to basically
10:55
accept our responses
11:00
and
11:01
in order to receive conversation
11:04
and so i have a huge catalog of these
11:07
computer problems that i help people
11:08
with
11:09
and i'm going back now and making videos
11:12
trying to help people and that i only
11:16
record videos
11:18
on
11:19
those
11:21
problems and then the customers that
11:24
actually at that time
11:27
fulfilled and submitted
11:31
a proper procedure so that i would
11:33
become compensated
11:34
you know what i'm saying in other words
11:36
they had to take another step
11:38
and
11:39
you know oh oh thank you it helped my
11:42
issue or no no no he was awful although
11:44
a lot of times they do not respond
11:47
at all they don't type back and say oh
11:49
thank you they just
11:51
you know what i'm saying my point is
11:52
that there's a high chance that
11:55
these instructions helped
11:58
this customer out
11:59
now any other i think i went over a lot
12:02
i gave you actually
12:03
some possible gold tips i went over
12:06
other ways to troubleshoot
12:09
you know what i'm saying if your
12:10
computer is not working
12:14
uh good luck with microsoft operating
12:16
systems that's all i can tell you you
12:18
know i'm saying
12:22
i'll give you one additional tip but
12:24
because this video is already too long
12:25
i'm not going to go over all
12:27
through the details
12:30
if this problem was where microsoft was
12:33
still function the computer was still
12:35
functioning the operating system was
12:37
still functioning
12:39
however you couldn't reboot it or or
12:41
maybe it froze up
12:43
there is look up in an internet search
12:46
there is a proper way now microsoft
12:50
removed the safe mode microsoft i don't
12:53
know what they were smoking what they
12:55
were drinking they're just a bunch
12:57
sometimes i swear it's intentional or
13:00
there's just a bunch of i don't know man
13:02
they're strange over at microsoft at
13:04
times
13:06
up until windows 7 you had a safe mode
13:08
option where you could boot your
13:10
computer into safe mode and then you
13:11
could diagnose the problem well they
13:13
removed that from windows 10
13:15
so there is a proper procedure to reboot
13:19
windows 10 into safe mode if
13:22
you cannot get into the settings if the
13:24
operating system froze
13:26
basically you power on your computer
13:28
three times you press the power button
13:30
three times but i want you to look up
13:32
the exact instructions
13:35
that's uh i'm not no this video's
13:37
already too long adios
